Founded in 2024, Unity Aid for Displaced Refugees (UADR) was established to address the urgent needs of individuals displaced by civil wars, conflicts and persecution. Based in Nairobi, UADR is dedicated to empowering displaced men, women, and children by addressing their immediate and long-term needs, enabling them to rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and hope.
Compassion
We believe in the power of empathy. At the heart of UADR is compassion, guiding every interaction we have with the individuals we serve. We are deeply committed to listening, understanding, and responding to their stories of displacement, trauma, and survival with genuine care and concern.
Respectful support
We ensure that every displaced person we serve is treated with dignity, no matter their background, status, or situation. We operate without judgment, offering services in a manner that affirms their humanity and individual worth.
Empowerment
Our goal is to empower displaced individuals to regain control of their lives. We do not believe in providing temporary aid alone. Through education, skill-building, and entrepreneurship programs, we equip refugees with the tools they need to build a future of self-sufficiency and independence.
Integrity
We uphold transparency and accountability in everything we do. From the responsible use of donations to the ethical implementation of our programs, we ensure that every action we take is rooted in honesty, trustworthiness, and respect for the communities we serve and the supporters who enable our work.
Collaboration
UADR believes that sustainable change is only possible through partnerships. We work closely with local communities, governments, international organizations, and other NGOs to create a network of support that multiplies the impact of our efforts. Our collaborative approach ensures that solutions are more comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable.
We approach each individual as a unique person with their own story. By listening closely and offering tailored support, we create an atmosphere of trust where beneficiaries feel heard and understood.
Emotional well-being
We recognize the deep emotional impact of displacement and integrate counseling and emotional support into our programs. Our goal is to nurture healing through safe spaces, peer support groups, and professional psychological services.
